Vignes ensoleillées de Beaurang At Château Beaurang the planted grape varieties are distributed as follows:

· 60 % of Merlots

· 30 % of Cabernet-franc

· 10 % of Cabernet-sauvignons

Un jeune pied de vigne de BeaurangThe medium age of the vineyard of Château Beaurang is more than forty years and the blending of the various vines gives well-balanced, harmonious wines, with a bigaromatic complexity. The ascendancy of the Merlot gives a lot of roundness to wines. It is nevertheless necessary to have a rather important complement of Cabernet-franc to obtain more liveliness and length.

Château Beaurang is in this tradition of requirement, furthermore getting aged, often appear noble touches of venison and leather.

Grappe de Merlot de BeaurangMerlot is an early red vine with good yield, expressing its qualitative potentialities in most of the soils of Bordeaux. Particularly well adapted to the sandy and chalkysoils, the best soils for the Merlot are in the AOC Pomerol and Saint-Emilion.

The Merlot gives colored, supple and round wines, with a velvety and silky texture. It is characterized, mainly, by aromas of red berries with floral, ample and soft nuances in mouth. The Merlot is marked by delicate tannins.


Grappe de raisin avant maturationCabernet sauvignon is a sensitive vine, difficult to cultivate and which does not bear mediocrity. It gives bunches with small berries which, when perfectly ripe,  brings the aromatic complexity to the blending.

 

 

organo06Cabernet-franc likes sandy and clayey sols. The Cabernet-franc, the cousin of the Cabernet sauvignon is the most aromatic of the three main vines in the AOC Saint-Emilion and  products aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant, currant and licorice. It is well-structured and tannic but with a slowly ripeness than the others grape varieties.
